              Note:

              Tlatilco was one of the first chiefdom centres to arise

              in the valley of Mexico , flourishing on the western

              shores of Lake Texcoco .  It is noted for its clay

              figurines of nude women with fantastic coiffures.

              The meaning of these intimate works is not known.
