ARTIST
PROFILE:
"I was Born
in 1970 in a wheatbelt town south east of Perth.
I finished
secondary education at the local high before moving to Perth in 1987.
After
meeting future husband Warren and completing a Certificate of Architectural
Drafting
in1990, we moved to the Hamersley Ranges in the
Pilbara, North West of
Western Australia,
some 1400kms from Perth,
to live and work on my husbands family’s cattle station.
I began
sketching in 1997, encouraged by the lifestyle and landscape, whilst living on
‘Wyloo”.
My
inspiration comes solely from the remote lifestyle I have enjoyed, with
isolation an ally to a fervent
and fertile imagination.
My childhood and childhood perceptions weave and infinite thread
through my canvas’s,
lending the works a sense of naivety and engaging
the viewer on a personal level.
