Born in  Czechoslovakia , Joseph arrived in  Australia in 1974.  

A number of his paintings were bought by the Catholic Institute of Rome. 

He quickly established himself in the forefront of realist painters, depicting scenes from

Sydney Harbour  and other marine subjects.  

He is known for his meticulous brushwork and extreme detail, with his paintings

often depicting the early or late light of the day.  

He has won many awards.
